Singer-songwriter Liz Cooper has released “Sorry (That I Love You),” the third single from her upcoming album New Day, due Feb. 20, 2026, and announced an extensive North American headline tour.
The Vermont-based artist describes the bittersweet track as an apology to herself for a complicated relationship. “The song took three painful and confusing years to be fully realized,” Cooper said, noting that it was rewritten amid the Altadena fires in East Los Angeles. “I finally hit my breaking point and re-wrote Sorry (That I Love You) as an apology to myself.”
New Day, Cooper’s third album, was created during a period of personal transformation. She relocated to New York, navigated a pandemic, came out to herself, and experienced her first queer relationship and breakup. The album reflects her journey through psychedelic pop and introspective lyricism.
Among the announced tour dates is a stop in New York City on April 25 at Public Records (233 Butler St, Brooklyn, NY 11217). Tickets are on sale now.
