Snail Mail, the project of songwriter Lindsey Jordan, will bring her upcoming North American tour to the Brooklyn Paramount (385 Flatbush Ave Ext, Brooklyn, NY 11201) on April 15, in support of her newly announced album Ricochet, due out March 27 on Matador Records.
The Brooklyn date is part of a major spring tour that kicks off April 10 in Milwaukee and marks Jordan’s first extensive North American run in five years. The tour follows the release of Ricochet, Snail Mail’s third studio album and her first since 2021’s Valentine.
Jordan recently shared the album’s lead single, “Dead End,” a grunge-tinged track that reflects on suburban adolescence and the loss of youthful simplicity. The song pairs dense, shoegaze-influenced textures with sharp guitar lines and melodic hooks, building toward a cathartic singalong. Jordan co-directed the song’s music video, which was filmed overnight in rural North Carolina.
Written during a period of major personal change, including Jordan’s move from New York City to North Carolina, Ricochet explores themes of time, mortality and emotional impermanence. While her earlier work focused on the intensity of young love, the new album turns inward, examining anxiety, acceptance and the quiet fear of watching meaningful parts of life fade.
The 11-track album expands Snail Mail’s sound with ornate string arrangements, luminous melodies and ’90s alternative rock influences, while maintaining Jordan’s incisive lyricism. The record was produced with Aron Kobayashi Ritch and recorded in North Carolina and Brooklyn.
