The Long Island City Partnership (LICP) is celebrating the fifth annual Lunar New Year in LIC, honoring the Year of the Fire Horse with more than 50 neighborhood events, promotions, and prize raffles from Feb. 17 to March 3, 2026.
The two-week celebration features cultural performances, specialty menus at local eateries, and family-friendly activities. Highlights include a traditional budaixi puppet show by Chinese Theatre Works at the Museum of the Moving Image and Finback LIC’s release party for its citrus coconut pilsner, Golden Lucky, complete with DJs, food specials, and lucky red envelopes for early guests.
The festivities will culminate with a lion dance procession along Jackson Avenue on Feb. 27. The parade begins at 4 p.m. at 28th Street and 42nd Road, stops at Rafferty Triangle at 4:45 p.m., and concludes at MoMA PS1 Plaza around 5:20 p.m., with closing remarks from local officials.
Attendees can participate in LICP’s new LICPerks rewards program, scanning QR codes at participating businesses and events to redeem promotions and enter raffles for prizes including JetBlue tickets, Museum of the Moving Image passes, fitness experiences, local gift cards, and merchandise.
“We are so excited for the milestone fifth year of bringing the community together to celebrate Lunar New Year in LIC,” said LICP President Laura Rothrock. “This year, we are happy to offer lucky prizes encouraging the community to explore all the incredible experiences in the neighborhood.”
