Three-time Grammy Award-winning rapper and actress Megan Thee Stallion will make history with her Broadway debut as “Zidler,” the impresario of the titular nightclub, in the Tony Award-winning hit Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
The limited eight-week engagement runs from Tuesday, March 24, 2026, through Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Megan becomes the first female-identifying performer to portray the role in any production worldwide.
“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor,” Megan said. “I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation, and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.”
Producers called the casting a historic moment in the show’s run. “Megan is a true global superstar. Her impact on music and culture is undeniable,” said producer Carmen Pavlovic. “We want our show to go out with a spectacular bang, and Megan is the force of nature to lead us there. And yes, there will be a hint of music from her own iconic catalogue.”
Megan will take over the role from Bob the Drag Queen, whose limited engagement as Zidler concludes March 22. The Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical is set to close on July 26, 2026, after a celebrated run.
Hailing from Houston, Megan Thee Stallion has earned three No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, including Savage (Remix) and WAP, and has won three GRAMMY Awards. In addition to her music career, she has appeared in stage and screen productions, hosted major awards shows, launched a tequila and swimwear brand, and founded the Pete and Thomas Foundation, supporting underserved communities.
