Boston-based heavy-pop band JVK will release their debut full-length album, Pop Culture Affair, on March 20, following two EPs and several years of high-energy performances across the Northeast.
The announcement comes alongside the release of their new single, “Machine,” which features pulsing synth-pop beats, hard rock guitars, and lyrics exploring anti-capitalist themes and existential urgency. A music video for the track is available now.
JVK, founded in 2022 by frontwoman Jo Krieger, built a reputation in the Boston DIY scene for chaotic, high-voltage live shows and genre-blurring arrangements. The current lineup, including Atticus Crowley, Kay Kwiatek, Liv Barcohana, and Zach Feinstein, has evolved into a fully realized retro-glam-synth rock force.
The band has appeared at major festivals including Louder Than Life (2023) and Boston Calling (2024), completed four nationwide tours, and received six nominations from the Boston and New England Music Awards.
JVK will support Pop Culture Affair with a series of tour dates, including a stop in Brooklyn, New York, on May 7 at Gold Sounds (44 Wilson Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237). Tickets and additional information are available through the band’s official channels.
