Due to popular demand, the Off-Broadway return of Clare Barron’s Obie Award-winning play You Got Older has received a second two-week extension, with performances now running through April 26, 2026, at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Previously extended through April 12, the production reunites Barron, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, with director Anne Kauffman, an Obie Award winner and Tony Award nominee.
The darkly comic drama stars Alia Shawkat as Mae, an unmoored young woman who returns to her small Washington hometown to care for her ailing father, played by Tony Award nominee Peter Friedman. The story explores family, illness, and unexpected intimacy, blending reality and fantasy in a tender yet discomfiting narrative. Supporting cast members include Misha Brooks, Paul Cooper, Caleb Joshua Eberhardt, Nadine Malouf, and Nina White.
You Got Older features scenic design by Tony Award nominee Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Obie Award winner Ásta Bennie Hostetter, lighting by Tony Award nominee Isabella Byrd, and sound design by Tony Award nominee Daniel Kluger. Previews began February 12, 2026, with an official opening on February 23.
Performances are scheduled Tuesday through Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., with some schedule exceptions.
