Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy will bring his North American tour to Forest Hills Stadium (1 Tennis Pl, Forest Hills, NY 113759) on Sept. 29, marking a major stop in support of his upcoming album, “The Weight of the Woods.”
The performance is part of Kennedy’s 32-date fall tour across the United States and Canada, promoted by Live Nation. The Queens show will feature support from Jonah Kagen, with Hunter Metts appearing on select dates throughout the tour.
Known for his powerful vocals and emotionally resonant performances, Kennedy is expected to deliver a set blending fan favorites with new material from “The Weight of the Woods,” set for release April 3 via Interscope Records. Recent singles from the album include “Honest” “Funeral” and “Refuge.”
The upcoming show at Forest Hills Stadium adds to Kennedy’s growing list of high-profile venue appearances, as the historic open-air venue continues to host some of the biggest touring acts in music. The stop is one of several marquee dates on the tour, which also includes performances at venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
Tickets for the Forest Hills Stadium show will be available now via Live Nation.
The new album was largely written and recorded near Kennedy’s home in rural Ireland with collaborator Gabe Simon, with additional sessions in Nashville. Across its 14 tracks, the project draws heavily on themes of identity, home, and personal growth.
Kennedy recently previewed some of the new material during intimate pop-up performances in Los Angeles and New York City, offering fans an early look at the sound and direction of the album.
As anticipation builds around both the album and tour, the Sept. 29 performance in Queens is expected to be a standout moment, bringing Kennedy’s signature blend of introspective songwriting and arena-scale energy to one of New York City’s most iconic outdoor venues.
