Composer and playwright Michael Shaw Fisher will take the stage for a one-night-only cabaret, “Sex, Horror & Rock n’ Roll,” on Sunday, March 29 at 9:30 p.m. at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.
The late-night performance will feature a selection of songs from Fisher’s catalog of cult-favorite and upcoming works, including Exorcistic! The Rock Musical, Dr. Nympho Vs. The Sex Zombies, Midsummer Nightmare, Skullduggery, and Overlooked!, a parody of The Shining. The cabaret will also debut a brand-new song from an upcoming project, available exclusively to those in attendance.
Fisher, known for blending satire with rock-infused musical theater, recently completed an Off-Broadway run of Exorcistic! The Rock Musical at Asylum NYC and staged The Amazing Sex Life of Rabbits at SoHo Playhouse. His work has garnered praise for its sharp humor and unconventional storytelling style.
The March 29 performance will feature a cast that includes Emma Hunton, Olivia Valli, Jamie Cepero, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Ethan Crystal, Steven Cutts, Hannah Bonnett, Fisher himself, Richardson Cisneros-Jones, Leigh Wulff, Jesse Merlin, Gabe Ramirez, and Sophia Urista.
Directed by Mia Criss with musical direction by Zach Spound, the production promises a mix of dark comedy, theatrical storytelling, and high-energy musical performances. Alli Miller will host the evening, with stage management by Jason Goodman.
Organizers describe the cabaret as an irreverent showcase of Fisher’s “twisted musical universe,” blending humor, horror, and rock for an unpredictable night of live performance.
