The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) has unveiled its schedule for May 2026, featuring family-friendly performances, a Mother’s Day garden party, and a wine festival set against 250 acres of peak spring blooms.
The garden’s landscape is currently transitioning through a parade of seasonal flowers, including cherry blossoms, magnolias, and lilacs, followed by azaleas and peonies. Visitors can monitor the progress of specific collections through the garden’s digital bloom trackers to plan visits during peak color.
May programming highlights include:
- Peppa Pig on Pirate Island (May 2-3): A 15-minute mini show and meet-and-greet experience featuring Peppa and George. The Sunday afternoon performance at 3 p.m. will include ASL interpretation.
- Mother’s Day Weekend Celebration (May 9-10): A garden party on Daffodil Hill featuring local food trucks, lawn games, and face painting. The event includes music and activities presented by Uptown Vinyl Supreme and Bronx Community Collage.
- Spring Uncorked (May 16): The 10th annual wine-tasting event featuring wineries from the Hudson Valley, Brooklyn, and Long Island. The 21-and-over event includes live music and a “Paint & Sip” activity at Tulip Tree Allée.
- Gabby’s Dollhouse Fairylandia Tour (May 16-17): A character meet-and-greet and flower crown crafting activity located in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden.
Tickets for “Spring Uncorked” are $50 for non-members and include an All-Garden Pass and a souvenir wine tumbler. In the event of rain, the wine festival will be rescheduled for Sunday, May 17.
