The 80-minute experience gives visitors access to the historic workshop space where famous puppet characters are built.
The guided tour includes a walk-through of the workshop facility alongside dedicated photo opportunities with iconic characters. Attendees can watch live puppetry demonstrations conducted by professional Henson puppeteers and participate in meetings with master puppet builders. To mark the upcoming birthday of founder Jim Henson in September, the facility will temporarily display selected personal items sourced directly from company archives.
The attraction initially launched its public programming earlier this year and has drawn coverage from local and national media outlets. The venue is notable for its historical contribution to television and film puppetry. The workshop has served as the creative production home for character builds used in productions like Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, and Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas.
New York City serves as the original and longest-running home for the specialized production workshop. The studio focuses specifically on the established Henson style of construction for puppets and walkaround characters. The tour initiative also provides access to exclusive merchandise alongside options for private or customized group itineraries.
