The Chelsea Music Festival has detailed the official performance calendar for its 17th annual summer series in New York City. Staged under the thematic title Every Story Counts, the multi-disciplinary arts festival is scheduled to run from June 20 through June 27, 2026. Artistic Directors Melinda Lee Masur and Ken-David Masur finalized the upcoming seasonal program to explore diverse American narratives across several Manhattan venues.
The detailed summer calendar features an expansive lineup that includes 17 New York premieres and two world premieres. The scheduled performances span multiple artistic fields, integrating classical and jazz music with curated culinary experiences and interactive visual art showcases. The core theme draws direct conceptual inspiration from democratic ideals, aiming to elevate diverse personal histories through deliberate creative collaborations.
Opening night on Saturday, June 20, will feature a performance by mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski at St. Paul’s German Lutheran Church, exploring the American immigrant experience through the poetry of Langston Hughes and Paul Laurence Dunbar. Additional musical highlights throughout the week include an outdoor piano salon presentation of Min Kwon’s America/Beautiful project, an intimate string performance by the Verona Quartet at Poets House, and the world premiere of William Susman’s Clouds and Flames, which commemorates the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
The festival schedule also incorporates specialized culinary and visual components for attendees. Chef Hinnerk von Bargen will host a global street food showcase on June 24, while Pier 57’s City Winery Bistro will feature a specialized Sunday brunch menu inspired by the writings of Mark Twain. Visual elements include an on-screen feature of artwork by Derek Fordjour alongside specialized book displays from visual artist Paul Collins during a free, weekend family outreach event.
A modern jazz finale featuring vibraphonist Warren Wolf and pianist Alex Brown alongside the Ivalas Quartet will close the seasonal series on Saturday evening, June 27. Individual tickets and comprehensive multi-day festival passes remain available for purchase through the organization’s primary digital ticketing platform.
