The 50th edition of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will launch on Saturday, July 4, 2026, expanding its footprint across multiple waterways. The anniversary display will take place over the Lower East River in the Seaport, the Lower Hudson River in collaboration with Jersey City, and above the Brooklyn Bridge. The pyrotechnic show will be visible from any regional area that features an unobstructed view of the sky above these specific landmarks.
Prime public viewing locations will be set up in Manhattan and Jersey City, with crowd management handled by the NYPD and JCPD. In Manhattan, non-ticketed public viewing areas will be situated along the FDR Drive, with specific location details scheduled for release soon. Public entry into Brooklyn Bridge Park and designated sections of the Seaport will require free tickets issued directly by the City of New York.
Security protocols will be enforced at all public viewing locations, and all spectators will be subject to searches. Prohibited items include alcohol, backpacks, blankets, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, drones, duffel bags, large bags, large coolers, large packages, lawn chairs, motorized scooters, umbrellas, and weapons. Officials noted that all established viewing locations are subject to change at any time for security reasons.
The Independence Day celebration plans to fire more than 85,000 shells in 30 colors, paired with a laser show on the Brooklyn Bridge during the 27-minute performance. The pyrotechnics will be synchronized to a musical score produced by Grammy and Emmy Award winner Jason Howland, featuring a performance by Alexia Jayy. The soundtrack will blend musical standards and hit songs spanning five decades from 1976 to the present.
Prior to the fireworks display, Terry Crews will host a televised musical program from The Rooftop at Pier 17. The pre-show lineup features performances by Noah Kahan, Post Malone, Salt-N-Pepa, Bebe Rexha, Shaboozey, and Blake Shelton. Audiences can watch the broadcast on NBC or stream it via Peacock from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a Spanish-language broadcast hosted by Jessica Carrillo and Carlos Adyan airing concurrently on Telemundo.
