Sam Smith will perform a special concert at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center on Friday, June 26, to mark the start of New York City Pride weekend. The performance is scheduled to take place at the venue’s Booking.com Theater. The site serves as the first LGBTQ+ visitor center within the National Park Service system.
The venue honors the legacy of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising and operates as a physical sanctuary dedicated to preserving LGBTQ+ history. The upcoming event is designed to connect the artist’s music with the historic location during the annual holiday weekend. The performance coincides with the announcement of the musician’s fifth studio album, titled Hazel Eyes.
The upcoming 12-song album was partially recorded in New York City at Electric Lady Studios and is scheduled for release on August 21 through Capitol Records. The project was co-produced by Smith alongside Simon Aldred and David Odlum. It features collaborations with musical artists including Feist, Shahzad Ismaily, and string arranger Rob Moose.
A new single from the record, titled “My Guy,” was released today alongside an official music video. The song features vocal harmonies from Feist and singer-songwriter Moses Sumney. Smith previously performed the new track earlier this week during an appearance on the television program Later with Jools Holland.
The new album serves as the follow-up to the 2023 release Gloria, which featured the single “Unholy” with Kim Petras. The artist previously began a series of global residencies to debut new material, starting at the Warsaw venue in Brooklyn before moving to the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. The concert series is scheduled to continue this summer at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.
