A new beverage brand named Select by Kung Fu Tea has announced the simultaneous opening of two retail locations in New York City. The dual launch will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026. The new storefronts are located at 73 Chrystie Street in Manhattan’s Chinatown and within the New World Mall at 136-20 Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing.

The brand functions as an elevated iteration of the parent company, Kung Fu Tea, which currently operates over 350 locations nationwide. The new concept focuses on traditional Asian tea customs presented through a contemporary lens. The menu utilizes specialized, sourced tea bases such as Da Hong Pao from Wuyi, Long Jing green tea, and Camellia Oolong.

The locations will also feature a specialty coffee program that pairs Italian-style espresso with ingredients like black sesame, osmanthus, or coconut water. Company operators stated that individual drink recipes are specifically calibrated for temperature and texture. Steve Luw, chief operating officer of Kung Fu Tea, noted that the business first began in Flushing over 16 years ago, making the neighborhood a natural choice for the new brand debut.

A grand opening public celebration is scheduled to run through the weekend at both regional sites. Early attendees will receive limited promotional gift bags containing curated items from external brands, including Levain Bakery gifts and Phlur Matcha Milk Mist. The gift packages also include a custom collaborative candle, tea-inspired incense sticks, and miniature flower bouquets.

All visitors throughout the opening weekend will have access to a buy-one-get-one-free promotional offer on all available drinks. The company intends for the new format to offer a distinct menu compared to its standard bubble tea establishments. Complete details regarding the opening schedule and specific drink compositions will be available on-site at both the Queens and Manhattan venues.
