Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Towa Bird will embark on a North American headline tour this fall, including a performance at Irving Plaza in Manhattan on September 28. The tour is organized in support of her new album, Gentleman, which was released through Interscope Records.
The upcoming concert series begins on September 13 at The Independent in San Francisco and includes a stop at Lincoln Hall in Chicago on September 22. The tour concludes on October 3 at The Foundry at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. Mother Soki will serve as the opening act for all scheduled dates.
Gentleman serves as the follow-up to Bird’s 2024 debut album, American Hero. The new project was produced by Patrick Wimberly and features Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill. Recorded in Brooklyn and Los Angeles following a year of touring, the album represents a stylistic shift from the alt-pop structure of her debut.
The publication history for the album includes recognition from NPR Music’s “New Music Friday” podcast, Stereogum, and Brooklyn Vegan, which named it one of the notable albums of its release week. The New York Times also featured the artist, noting her ability to perform alongside both pop stars and riot grrrls. Additionally, the track “Dog” was recognized by Rolling Stone as a featured song of the week following the release of its music video, which co-stars actress Katy O’Brian.
Bird is a half-Filipino, half-English artist who grew up in Thailand and London, beginning her guitar training at age 12. Her early performance experience includes playing dive bars and street festivals in Hong Kong at age 14, followed by studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. Before her solo career, she produced and co-wrote music for other artists.
Since her 2024 debut, Bird has performed as a supporting act on tours with Reneé Rapp and Billie Eilish. Her previous work includes the October 2025 single “Your Girl,” which was featured on the soundtrack for the second season of the Netflix series Nobody Wants This and is included on the new album. Outside of her music career, Bird is currently featured by the fashion house Miu Miu and has appeared on the covers of Vogue Philippines, NME, and Gay Times.
