TOSOS Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Burning Leaves, a new play written by Tom Rowan and directed by Graydon Gund. The production runs from Sept. 26 through Oct. 17, 2026, at the Gural Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatres, located at 502 West 53rd Street in Manhattan.
The story follows Matt Leland, a young actor from New York who takes a teaching position at a small high school in the Midwest. While adjusting to the news, he connects with Jesse Wade, a talented 16-year-old student navigating his identity in a conservative town.
The cast features Campbell Idol, Brady Dalton Richards, Annemarie Rosano, Jonathan Stewart, Sophie Tananbaum, and Becky Rusch. Members of Actors’ Equity Association are participating in the production, which was originally developed through TOSOS Theatre Company’s Doric Wilson Playwrights Project reading series.
Production team members include supervising producer Barry Childs, set designer Evan Joseph Frank, lighting designer David Castenada, co-costume designers Q Le and Ricky Lurie, sound designer Morry Campbell, and props designer Reesa Graham. Michael Tosto serves as stage manager alongside assistant stage manager Eve Devitt.
The limited engagement includes 16 total performances scheduled Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m., with opening night set for Saturday, Sept. 26. Running time is two hours with one 15-minute intermission, and tickets ranging from $45 to $70 plus fees are available through Zeffy.
