Nashville punk trio Winona Fighter will play Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan on March 12 as part of its North American headline tour. The two-leg U.S. tour kicks off Jan. 21.
The tour supports the band’s second album, Brutal & Extremely Underrated, due Jan. 22, 2027, via Rise Records. The record is available for pre-order and pre-save now. Its new single, “LEECH,” is out now with a music video directed by Hannah Hall. It follows the earlier single “BOMBS AWAY.”
Winona Fighter is made up of frontwoman and drummer Coco Kinnon, guitarist Dan Fuson and bassist and producer Austin Luther. Luther produced the 12-track album and recorded it at his home studio, and Grammy Award-winning engineer Greg Collins mixed it. The band recorded in two sessions, and the first coincided with an ice storm that left much of Nashville without power.
“There’s more swagger, and we had bigger goals for ourselves,” Kinnon said. Luther said the band set out to evolve without copying itself, and it wanted listeners to know the album was made by human beings. Self-taught artist Glen Martin Taylor created the cover art.
The album follows the band’s 2025 debut, My Apologies to The Chef. This past summer, Winona Fighter toured with Honey Revenge, South Arcade, Games We Play and Chase Petra on the idobi Radio Summer School Tour. The band also performed with Shinedown and appeared at Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach and Mexico City. It closes out 2026 at Vans Warped Tour in Orlando and opens for Taking Back Sunday at the band’s annual holiday show in December.
