Acclaimed musical Mexodus extends Off-Broadway run through June 14

Mexodus at the Daryl Roth Theatre in Manhattan through June 2026

The critically acclaimed new musical Mexodus has been extended for four additional weeks at the Daryl Roth Theatre (101 E 15th St, New York, NY 10003) following strong audience response.

Producers P3 Productions and Audible Theater announced that the Off-Broadway production will now run through June 14. The show began performances on March 6 and officially opened on March 17.

Written and performed by Brian Quijada and Nygel D. Robinson, the musical blends live performance, hip-hop and looping techniques to explore a lesser-known chapter of American history — the path freedom seekers took south across the Rio Grande into Mexico rather than north along the Underground Railroad.

Directed by David Mendizábal with choreography by Tony Thomas, the production follows a freedom seeker and an unlikely ally as they forge a bond that crosses cultural and geographic borders.

The show has drawn widespread critical praise, including a New York Times Critic’s Pick designation, with reviewers highlighting its inventive storytelling and musical experimentation.

“Mexodus” will also be released as an Audible Original by Audible, featuring the full musical recorded in Dolby Atmos. The audio version is scheduled for release on April 16 and is currently available for pre-order.

In addition, the production will be featured at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, with a special presentation titled “Mexodus: A Musical Journey Across Borders” on March 15.

The musical was previously developed at New York Stage and Film, Baltimore Center Stage, Mosaic Theater Company of DC, and Berkeley Repertory Theatre before arriving Off-Broadway.

The production also features understudies Alan Mendez and Trent Lawson and includes scenic design by Riw Rakkulchon, lighting design by Mextly Couzin, sound design by Mikhail Fiksel, and projections by Johnny Moreno.

The show has also launched MEXPass, a program designed to provide subsidized tickets to students across New York City and the tri-state area through a partnership with The Movement Theatre Company.

Tickets are currently on sale, with limited $39 rush tickets available daily through TodayTix and at the theater’s box office. Click here to purchase tickets.
