Atlantic Theater Company will present the world premiere of The Saviors, a new play by Bubba Weiler and directed by Jack Serio, as the final production of its 2025–26 40th anniversary season.
The limited engagement will run June 11 through July 19, 2026, at Atlantic Stage 2, located at 330 W. 16th St. Performances begin June 11, with an official opening set for June 28.
The Saviors centers on two altar boys whose bond is tested when a lost young man seeks refuge in their church, forcing them to confront shifting faith, identity and desire as their lives begin to change. The play marks a reunion for Weiler and Serio following their acclaimed collaboration on Well, I’ll Let You Go.
Weiler, a Brooklyn-based playwright and actor, made his playwriting debut with Well, I’ll Let You Go and has held residencies at Berkeley Rep’s Ground Floor and Mercury Store. As an actor, he originated the role of Scorpius Malfoy in the first American cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and recently earned Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel, and Outer Critics Circle nominations for his performance in Swing State.
Serio, a Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning director, recently made his West End debut with Samuel D. Hunter’s Clarkston. His New York work includes world premieres at Signature Theatre, The Space at Irondale, and The East Village Basement.
Casting and additional creative team members will be announced at a later date. Tickets go on sale in March 2026. Atlantic Theater Company memberships, which offer priority booking and discounts, are currently available.
