Scottish alternative rock trio Biffy Clyro will perform at Irving Plaza (17 Irving Pl, New York, NY 10003) on May 5 as part of the newly announced North American leg of their global Futique Tour.
The Live Nation-promoted run begins April 20 in Los Angeles and follows sold-out tours across the United Kingdom and Europe. The band’s return to North America comes after previously canceling dates late last year.
Frontman Simon Neil said in a statement that the group is eager to reconnect with fans. “We are sooo excited to come play for y’all,” Neil said. “We were gutted to cancel the last run of shows before Xmas, so these gigs are going to be extra special.”
The tour supports the band’s latest album, Futique, released via Warner Records. The project has generated tens of millions of streams, led by tracks including “A Little Love,” and has drawn critical acclaim. NME awarded the album four out of five stars, praising its blend of vulnerability and expansive sound, while Kerrang! called it “an album to cherish.”
The title Futique refers to fleeting moments that gain meaning in hindsight — a theme reflected in the album’s mix of introspective lyrics, soaring choruses, and dynamic instrumentation.
