Blue Note Jazz Festival to bring R&B, hip-hop stars to NYC in June

Jazz fans and music lovers have plenty to look forward to as the 15th annual Blue Note Jazz Festival New York begins June 1 with performances at multiple city venues. Headliners include Ledisi, Durand Bernarr, Big Freedia, UMI, Destin Conrad, Kokoroko, Jose James, and other celebrated artists. The festival opens at Sony Hall with Arrested Development and spans the Blue Note Jazz Club, Sony Hall, and SummerStage, along with jazz brunches and the official Midnight Jam on June 26.

The festival blends contemporary R&B and progressive jazz, featuring both powerful vocalists and innovative instrumentalists such as MonoNeon, Isaiah Collier, Brian Blade, Chief Adjuah, Marcus Gilmore, and Brandee Younger. It is curated to highlight artists who push musical boundaries while honoring jazz traditions.

“Blue Note curates a lineup that is unique in style, breadth, and cultural impact,” said Alex Kurland, Blue Note’s director of programming. “This year continues our tradition of presenting singular artists who are your favorite artists’ favorite artists, from Big Freedia to Ledisi, from Dirty Dozen Brass Band to Kokoroko and MonoNeon.”
