Australian artist Chet Faker, the ARIA-winning musician and producer also known as Nick Murphy, will perform at The Rooftop at Pier 17 (89 South St Pier 17, New York, NY 10038) on May 30, 2026, as part of his North American tour. The tour follows the release of his new single, “Can You Swim?,” and precedes his upcoming album, A Love For Strangers, set for release Feb. 13 via BMG.
“Can You Swim?” showcases Murphy’s raw vocals layered over somber piano, exploring love as a struggle to stay afloat amid emotional tidal waves. The single builds on the themes of vulnerability and personal rediscovery first explored in his 2021 release, Hotel Surrender, and marks a return to the introspective artistry that defined his debut album, Built On Glass.
The North American tour kicks off April 30 in Los Angeles and will bring Chet Faker’s blend of electronic, soul, and experimental sounds to major cities, including the New York stop at Pier 17. The tour follows his recent performance at the Sydney Opera House and continues a career defined by collaborations with artists such as Flume and Marcus Marr, as well as instrumental works under his birth name, Nick Murphy.
