The International Contemporary Ensemble will present The Shape of Forgetting on Wednesday, March 11, at 8 p.m. at Roulette Intermedium, showcasing world premieres from this season’s Call for ___ Commission Program. The concert highlights the Ensemble’s ongoing commitment to emerging composers shaping contemporary music.
The program features new works by Camila Agosto and Lester St. Louis, alongside Paul Novak’s seven dreams about my body, a 2025 BMI Composer Award winner. Additional pieces include Miniature by Shrish A. Jawadiwar and Epiglot by Ensemble member Erin Rogers. Agosto’s piece explores memory, identity, and release, while St. Louis’s sextet for strings, winds, and piano translates electronic textures into acoustic forms, layering rhythms and harmonies that evoke the simultaneity of lived experience.
Each year, two early-career composers are selected for the Call for ___ Commission Program, receiving workshops, rehearsals, and mentorship with ICE musicians. Applications for the 2026 program are now open through March 27.
Tickets for The Shape of Forgetting are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and $20 for students and seniors. More information is available at roulette.org.
