Sub sandwiches will help power a national cause this March as Jersey Mike’s locations across New York raise money for athletes competing in the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games.
The sandwich chain is partnering with the Special Olympics USA Games for its 16th annual “Month of Giving” campaign, with 109 Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants statewide collecting donations to support Team New York athletes preparing to compete in the national event.
Throughout March, customers can round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or donate while placing an order. Funds raised will help support New York athletes traveling to the 2026 games.
The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will take place June 20–26 across the Twin Cities in Minnesota, with the University of Minnesota serving as the official host venue. Nearly 3,000 athletes from across the country are expected to compete in 16 sports, including athletics, gymnastics, swimming, and basketball. Two new sports — pickleball and cornhole — will make their debut during the games.
The fundraising campaign will culminate on Wednesday, March 25, during the chain’s nationwide “Day of Giving.” On that day, participating Jersey Mike’s locations will donate 100 percent of all sales — not just profits — to support the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games and local state programs sending athletes to compete.
According to organizers, Day of Giving is the company’s busiest day of the year, with some restaurant crews beginning preparations as early as 4 a.m. to meet demand. Every dollar generated that day, whether from in-store purchases, online orders, or the Jersey Mike’s app, will go directly to the cause.
The Month of Giving campaign traditionally supports more than 200 charities nationwide. However, for only the second time in the campaign’s 16-year history, Jersey Mike’s franchise owners and operators across the country are focusing their fundraising efforts on a single cause: supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities and promoting inclusion beyond sports.
Jersey Mike’s hopes to surpass last year’s record-setting total of $30 million raised nationwide during the campaign.
Since launching Month of Giving in 2011, the company has raised more than $143 million for charities across the United States.
