Trumpeter, vocalist, composer, and bandleader Jon Lampley will perform at Brooklyn’s Public Records (233 Butler St, Brooklyn, NY 11217) on Saturday, March 28, showcasing his signature blend of jazz, soul, and gospel-infused music. The show begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m., and will feature special guest James Hamilton.
Lampley, a longtime member of the house band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert under Jon Batiste and Louis Cato, steps into the spotlight with his forthcoming sophomore album, Notes To Self, set for release June 26, 2026. His live performances merge gospel-rooted soul, jazz virtuosity, and singer-songwriter storytelling, creating a communal, uplifting concert experience.
Raised in Akron, Ohio, Lampley co-founded the ensemble Huntertones and has performed with artists including O.A.R. and Lake Street Dive. His 2024 solo debut, Night Service: Live at LunÀtico, earned praise from NPR as “so joyful,” while The New York Times lauded his preparation and artistry on late-night television.
