King Tuff will bring his renewed, rock-forward sound to the Music Hall of Williamsburg (66 N 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11211) on April 16 as part of a North American tour supporting his upcoming album MOO.
The project marks a return to form for Burlington, Vermont-based artist Kyle Thomas, who performs under the King Tuff moniker. Following 2023’s Smalltown Stardust, Thomas stepped away from the experimental direction of his recent releases and reconnected with the raw, high-energy rock music that first defined his career.
Recorded largely on analog equipment using a Tascam 388 tape machine, MOO leans into immediacy and imperfection. The album’s lead single, “Twisted On A Train,” was written and recorded in just a few hours and reflects Thomas’ embrace of spontaneity after years of meticulous digital production.
The Brooklyn performance is expected to feature new material alongside fan-favorite tracks from King Tuff’s earlier catalog. Thomas has described the album as a joyful reconnection with rock ’n’ roll, favoring grit and instinct over polish.
