L’Alliance New York to present Kimberly Bartosik’s bLUr in January

L’Alliance New York will present choreographer Kimberly Bartosik’s bLUr on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at 9 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Le Skyroom, 22 E. 60th St., 8th Floor. Tickets start at $15 and are available online.

The performance returns following its sold-out world premiere at the 2025 Crossing The Line Festival, co-presented at New York Live Arts. bLUr features five dancers navigating cycles of desire and compassion amid physical and emotional crises, blending contemporary choreography with urgent, expressive movement. The work explores fragility, power and human connection in a rapidly shifting world.

Co-commissioned by L’Alliance New York and the American Dance Festival, with support from the Doris Duke/SHS Foundations Award for New Works and the New England Foundation for the Arts, the production highlights Bartosik’s dedication to innovative dance and community engagement. bLUr was developed through residencies at Marble House Project, the Ragdale Foundation and Bates Dance Festival, among others.

Bartosik, a former Merce Cunningham Dance Company member and Bessie Award recipient, has presented her work internationally and nationally at venues including BAM Next Wave, Danspace Project, The Kitchen, and American Dance Festival. The performances are co-presented with Live Artery | New York Live Arts as part of their festival platform for commissioned and curated dance works.
