Comedian and writer Michael Cruz Kayne will return to Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Ln, New York, NY 10012) for two performances of his new stand-up show, What Else What Else: A Night of Stand-Up Comedy with Michael Cruz Kayne, on March 4 and 5.
The shows, scheduled for 7 p.m. each night at the Greenwich Village venue, will feature new material from Kayne and brand-new routines from three special guests, to be announced. The performances will be recorded live and later released globally as an Audible Original.
Kayne, an Emmy Award and Drama Desk nominee, is known for his work as a writer on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he became the first Asian American writer on the program. His credits also include HBO’s White House Plumbers and High Maintenance, as well as Apple TV+ series Severance and Helpsters.
The upcoming engagement follows Kayne’s one-person show, Sorry for Your Loss, which was recorded live at the Minetta Lane Theatre and is currently available on Audible. The production will also stream on Dropout beginning March 27.
“I’m thrilled that Audible has created a space for comedy both on the stage and in audio,” Kayne said in a statement. “The Minetta is a special theater that is in the heart of the New York comedy scene, and I’m excited to return and share this new show.”
