The Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company announced plans for its 2026 Lunar New Year Gala: Year of the Horse Celebration, set for Thursday, Feb. 26, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in Manhattan.
The evening marks a festive celebration of the Lunar New Year and the Red Fire Horse, highlighting the symbolism of the horse in Chinese culture and history. Founded by Chinese American choreographer Nai-Ni Chen, the internationally touring company is now led by Artistic Director Greta Campo and Executive Director Andy Chiang.
Guests will enjoy an intimate gala featuring cocktails, modern Asian cuisine by the chefs of Saffron59, and opportunities to connect with artists and supporters of the company. The program will include performances of traditional dances such as the Lion Dance and Mongolian dance, along with instrumental music. A silent auction showcasing traditional and contemporary arts and crafts will also be part of the evening.
The gala will take place at 450 W. 37th St. in Manhattan. Tickets start at $250, with $100 of each ticket tax-deductible, as the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Proceeds from the event will support the company’s community and educational programs, the creation of new works, and initiatives that uplift emerging Asian American artists. Space is limited for the celebration, which aims to honor the company’s legacy while investing in its future.
