The New York Botanical Garden’s 34th annual Holiday Train Show® is now underway, delighting visitors with model trains weaving through nearly 200 miniature replicas of New York City landmarks made entirely from natural materials such as leaves, bark, twigs, and seeds. The exhibition opened Saturday, Nov. 15, and runs through Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026.
Presented by Bank of America, the show offers two ways to experience the magic: daytime visits for families and casual visitors, and select evening Holiday Train Nights featuring illuminated displays, live performances, festive beverages, and a 21+ “Bar Car” at the Hudson Garden Grill Patio. Daytime tickets start at $25, providing access to the trains, gardens, and NYBG’s historic landscape.
This year’s show introduces two new landmarks: a replica of the renovated Delacorte Theater, home to The Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park, and the Whitney Museum of American Art Leonard A. Lauder Building, crafted from sustainable plant materials by Applied Imagination of Alexandria, Kentucky. Classic favorites like Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the original Penn Station are also on display.
Trains travel along indoor trestles, through tunnels, and across outdoor woodland displays, combining horticulture with design in a unique seasonal experience.
