Opera Gallery New York (827 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10065) is presenting The Quiet Continuum, a group exhibition of contemporary Asian art, on view from March 19 through April 11, 2026. The show features 15 artists across painting, sculpture, and mixed media, exploring themes of time, memory, and continuity.
The exhibition includes works by Ai Weiwei, Chu Teh-Chun, Kazuo Shiraga, Yayoi Kusama, Yue Min-Jun, and others. The show blends lyrical abstraction, satire, sculpture, and ritualized repetition, highlighting generational and cultural connections across Asia and beyond.
Key works include Zao Wou-Ki’s 19.08.2006 and Chu Teh-Chun’s Matin de fête, which merge Eastern calligraphic techniques with Western abstraction; Shiraga’s intimate, body-driven watercolor studies; Yue Min-Jun’s Contemporary Terracotta Warriors No.5, a satirical take on social and political conformity; and Ai Weiwei’s Forever Bicycle, reflecting mobility, history, and collective memory. Kusama’s Infinity Dots and Cho Sung-Hee’s hanji paper petals transform repetition and memory into meditative, tactile experiences.
“The Quiet Continuum proposes not a fixed identity but a shared sensibility,” Opera Gallery said. “Through abstraction, sculpture, and conceptual practice, these artists reveal how time quietly connects generations, histories, and gestures.”
Opera Gallery, founded in 1994 in Singapore, has locations worldwide, including London, Paris, Geneva, Madrid, Dubai, and New York, and represents both emerging and established international artists.
