The New York Botanical Garden (2900 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10458) is turning down the lights and turning up the bass this spring as Orchid Nights returns on select evenings beginning March 21.
The after-hours event, open to visitors 21 and older, transforms The Orchid Show: Mr. Flower Fantastic’s Concrete Jungle into a nightlife-inspired block party inside the garden’s iconic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
Guests can explore the exhibition amid colorful orchid displays while dancing to live sets from DJ April Hunt and her platform, Mixtape. Food and craft cocktails will be available for purchase throughout the evening. A special ticket is required. Orchid Nights are sponsored by Merrell.
DJ April Hunt, known for building community through music and creative collaboration, has performed and partnered with organizations including Aperture, Starz, Lionsgate, Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art, and The Shed.
The exhibition, The Orchid Show: Mr. Flower Fantastic’s Concrete Jungle, reimagines New York City through floral design, blending urban motifs such as stoops, slice shops, and subway scenes with thousands of orchids in bloom. The immersive installation runs through April 26 and is on view daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Orchid Nights will be held March 21 and 28, and April 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Blvd., Bronx.
