Rogue Theater Festival returns to Tribeca for eighth season of original plays

The eighth annual Rogue Theater Festival will return to Manhattan this summer from July 6 to July 12. The week-long event will take place at The Flea Theater in Tribeca and features 37 original productions. The festival is presented in association with the Abingdon Theatre Company, marking the third consecutive year of their partnership.

The lineup at The Siggy Theatre includes four fully staged productions performing at 7:00 p.m. night. On July 7, the festival presents “There Inherent” by Kyle R. Thomas, followed by “Steps” by Olivia Mathis and Zoë Parrish on July 8. The schedule continues with Kenneth Nunez’s “SLAYED” on July 9 and Taiwo Aloba’s historical drama “Sango” on July 10.

A series of six one-act plays will also be performed at The Siggy Theatre on Sunday, July 12, with showtimes at 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. This short work series includes “Broken Expectations” by Julia Genoveva, “Catch” by Hayden Palmer, and “Fully Furnished” by Bill Keenan. Additional short plays scheduled for the day are “Help from the Pod” by Rebecca B. Kane, “Jackson and Midge On The Brooklyn Bridge” by Chelyn Cousar, and “A Sad Affair” by Sean O’Leary.

The festival presentation includes a mix of fully staged plays, short plays, staged readings, and digital streaming performances. Admission prices vary by formatting, with digital streaming tickets set at $12. Tickets for staged readings and the short play series cost $15, while tickets for the fully staged productions are priced at $25.

The Flea Theater is located at 20 Thomas Street, situated between Broadway and Church Streets in Manhattan. Transit options to the venue include multiple subway lines stopping at the Chambers Street, Canal Street, and City Hall stations. Click here to purchase tickets.
