Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan is returning to New York City this fall for a one-night-only performance at the historic Beacon Theatre. The concert, set for Tuesday, November 19, 2025, is part of her Better Broken Tour—an intimate run of shows in support of her highly anticipated new album of the same name, released September 19 via Concord Records.
McLachlan’s tenth studio album and first for Concord, Better Broken has already been hailed by The New York Times as one of the season’s most anticipated releases. Its title track sets the tone for a collection of songs that explore resilience, grief, love, and strength with McLachlan’s signature emotional clarity. Recorded primarily at Los Angeles’s Sound City Studios, the album features contributions from acclaimed musicians including Wendy Melvoin (Prince and the Revolution), Matt Chamberlain (David Bowie, Bob Dylan), Benny Bock (Lucy Dacus, beabadoobee), and Greg Leisz (Kacey Musgraves, Florence + the Machine). Producers Tony Berg and Will Maclellan helped bring fresh energy to McLachlan’s lush, moody pop-rock sound.
Highlights of the record include the feminist anthem “One in a Long Line,” the soaring love song “Long Road Home,” the reflective “Gravity,” and “Reminds Me,” a collaboration with MUNA’s Katie Gavin. Critics have already praised the album’s mix of tenderness and strength, with The New York Times describing the title track as “resolute.”
The Better Broken Tour spans nine U.S. cities, with stops in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. But the New York City show promises to be a standout—held at the Beacon Theatre, a venue known for its intimacy and warmth, perfectly suited to McLachlan’s deeply personal music.
Over her three-decade career, McLachlan has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, won three GRAMMY Awards and twelve JUNO Awards, and forever changed the landscape of live music as the founder of Lilith Fair, the groundbreaking all-female festival of the late ’90s. Her legacy continues not only through her music but also through her philanthropy: the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, founded in 2002, provides free music instruction to more than 1,200 children and youth annually in Canada.
Adding to the momentum, McLachlan is featured in the new Hulu documentary Lilith Fair: Building A Mystery – The Untold Story, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. The film revisits the revolutionary spirit of Lilith Fair and McLachlan’s pivotal role in championing women in music.
With the release of Better Broken and the announcement of her first major tour in years, McLachlan’s November 19 performance at the Beacon Theatre is shaping up to be one of New York’s must-see concerts of the season.
