Shoshana Bean, Ben Platt, Auliʻi Cravalho joins New York Pops Gala honoring Stephen Schwartz

Grammy and Tony Award winners Shoshana Bean, Ben Platt, Lindsay Mendez, Judy Kuhn, and actress Auliʻi Cravalho will perform at The New York Pops’ 43rd Birthday Gala, Changed for Good: A Celebration of Stephen Schwartz, on Monday, April 27, at Carnegie Hall. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.

The gala honors composer Stephen Schwartz, whose Broadway credits include Wicked, Godspell, and Pippin, as well as his work on films such as The Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Schwartz has received three Academy Awards, four Grammy Awards, a special Tony Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Additional guest artists for the evening are expected to be announced. Proceeds from the gala support The New York Pops orchestra and its PopsEd music education programs, which reach thousands of New York City public school students annually.

The evening will be followed by a black-tie optional dinner and dance at the Mandarin Oriental New York. Tickets for the concert and dinner are available online, and concert-only tickets can be purchased through Carnegie Hall.

Founded in 1983 by Ruth and Skitch Henderson, The New York Pops is the nation’s largest independent pops orchestra. Led by Music Director Steven Reineke, the orchestra performs an annual concert series at Carnegie Hall and collaborates with a wide range of artists across Broadway, film, and popular music.
