British musician, producer, and record-label CEO Simon Raymonde, renowned for his work with the Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil, will release his award-winning autobiography, In One Ear: Cocteau Twins, Ivor And Me, in North America on November 18, 2025, via Bonnier Books.
Raymonde will appear at several U.S. book events leading up to the release, including a stop in New York City on November 15 at Rough Trade Records (1250 6th Ave, New York, NY 10112). Additional events will take place in Seattle at Easy Street Records, Los Angeles at Book Soup, and in San Francisco at a venue to be announced. In One Ear traces Raymonde’s life from his early years and his relationship with his father, Ivor Raymonde, the celebrated producer, arranger, and songwriter who worked with acts including the Walker Brothers and Dusty Springfield. The book chronicles Simon’s rise as a key member of Cocteau Twins from 1983 to 1997 and his work with This Mortal Coil, projects that helped define the sound of the 1980s and 1990s and continue to influence contemporary music.
The autobiography also explores Raymonde’s work founding and running the influential Bella Union label since 1997. Through Bella Union, he has discovered and nurtured artists including Beach House, Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, and John Grant. Raymonde reflects on his experiences navigating the music industry while dealing with hearing loss in one ear, offering readers a candid and deeply personal perspective on his life and career.
