The South Street Seaport Museum (12 Fulton St, New York, NY 10038) will host its March family activity, “Her-story in Motion,” from March 6 through March 29, 2026, providing interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.
Included with general admission, the program runs most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 14 Fulton Street in Manhattan. Participants can explore the Seaport Museum galleries, the tall ship Wavertree, and the lightship Ambrose while engaging in hands-on activities.
The program celebrates Women’s History Month by highlighting notable women from the South Street Seaport Historic District and Lower Manhattan. Visitors can create movable paper dolls inspired by historical figures such as Emily Roebling, who oversaw construction of the Brooklyn Bridge; Kate Walker, longtime keeper of Robbins Reef Lighthouse; and Maritcha Rémond Lyons, a civil rights activist and the first Black graduate of Providence High School.
Tickets for the family activity are free with museum admission and can be reserved in advance. The program will not be held on March 7 due to the museum’s annual Holi celebration. For more information, the museum advises contacting staff for exact dates.
