The South Street Seaport Museum is adding intrigue to the holiday season with “Holiday Maritime Stories: Secrets and Lies,” a festive storytelling event taking place Tuesday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m. at 213 Water Street. Tickets are $10, and guests can expect a lively evening filled with maritime history, seasonal cheer — and a touch of deception.
In partnership with Double or Nothing Media, the Museum will welcome four performers from the hit show NYC’s Secrets & Lies — Christa Avampato, Ashley Semrick, Carla Katz, and a surprise mystery guest — who will share fantastical and riveting tales of New York City’s hidden holiday maritime past. But there’s a twist: one of these stories is completely made up.
Audience members who successfully spot the teller of the fictional tale — the evening’s “holiday Grinch” — will be entered to win a pair of tickets to sail aboard the Seaport Museum’s historic 1885 schooner Pioneer during the museum’s 2026 sailing season. It’s a challenge that blends detective work with holiday fun.
To make the night even merrier, the event includes complimentary wine and festive holiday treats, ensuring guests stay warm and bright as the storytelling unfolds.
Preregistration is strongly encouraged, as seating is limited, but walk-ups will be accommodated when possible.
