The South Street Seaport Museum (12 Fulton St, New York, NY 10038) has announced a full lineup of Valentine’s Day programs beginning Feb. 7, 2026, offering hands-on workshops and a special literary history program that celebrate love, creativity and connection.

The schedule opens with Valentine Like a Sailor, held Feb. 7 and 8 at 14 Fulton St. Participants will learn about the 19th-century tradition of Sailors’ Valentines while creating their own keepsake using shells, beads, and buttons. The 90-minute workshops will be offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Tickets are $5, and preregistration is encouraged due to limited space.

On Feb. 9, the museum will host Print Your Own Valentine’s Day Card from noon to 2 p.m. at 207 Water St. The free, drop-in mini-workshop invites visitors to print their own cards using Bowne & Co.’s working collection of 19th-century printing equipment. The program is open to participants ages 12 and up, with all attendees able to take home their printed creations.

Valentine’s Day programming concludes Feb. 14 with Queer History: Walt Whitman’s Secret Loves, presented in partnership with the Walt Whitman Initiative. The 3 p.m. program at 213 Water St. explores 12 poems from Whitman’s Live Oak, with Moss, examining themes of love, desire, and connection. Tickets are $10.

All programs encourage preregistration, with walk-up attendance accommodated as space allows. Additional information and tickets are available through the South Street Seaport Museum.
