The Off-Broadway production of The Amazing Sex Life of Rabbits has officially opened at SoHo Playhouse as part of the theater’s SoHo Playhouse International Fringe Encore Series.

Written and directed by Michael Shaw Fisher, the play began its limited New York run on March 2 and is scheduled to continue through March 28. Tickets for the production are currently on sale.

The play arrives Off-Broadway after an acclaimed run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, where it received strong audience response and earned the Encore Award from SoHo Playhouse, leading to its New York engagement.

Opening night drew a packed audience to the downtown venue and concluded with a standing ovation for the production’s cast and creative team.

“The Amazing Sex Life of Rabbits” centers on a tense dinner between two couples that gradually spirals into a confrontation involving class tensions, personal history, and unresolved relationships. What begins as an awkward reunion between former partners evolves into a layered examination of desire, economics, and nostalgia as secrets surface throughout the evening.

The four-character play features Richardson Cisneros-Jones as Carson, Rebecca Larsen as Danielle, Leigh Wulff as Elise, and Schoen Hodges as Bobby.

Fisher is known for blending theatrical storytelling with musical and genre-driven elements. His previous works include the rock musical EXORCISTIC and Skullduggery: The Musical Prequel to Hamlet, both of which earned industry recognition, including Ovation Awards.

The production is produced by Mia Criss, Alli Miller, and Emma Hunton.

SoHo Playhouse’s International Fringe Encore Series regularly presents standout productions from fringe festivals around the world, offering New York audiences an opportunity to see works that have gained attention on the international festival circuit.
