The Bad Plus will take the stage at Sony Hall on June 19 as part of the band’s 2026 farewell tour, marking one of the final opportunities for fans to see the influential jazz group live.

The performance is part of an expanded North American tour that will bring the band to select cities through late June before concluding its 26-year run. The current lineup features founding bassist Reid Anderson and drummer Dave King, joined by guitarist Ben Monder and saxophonist Chris Speed.

After more than a quarter century of boundary-pushing recordings and performances, Anderson and King announced that 2026 will be the final year for The Bad Plus.

“The Bad Plus has been a band for 26 years,” the pair said in a joint statement. “As we enter into year 27 — after a great deal of soul searching and consideration — we have decided to bring this chapter to a close.”

Formed in 2000, The Bad Plus earned international recognition for its bold reinterpretations of popular songs and its original compositions that blended jazz improvisation with rock energy and experimental textures.

The June 19 show at Sony Hall stands as one of the tour’s marquee dates, offering New York audiences a final chance to experience the group’s dynamic live performance.
