The Frick Collection’s recently completed renovation has been recognized with four prestigious preservation awards from leading architectural and cultural organizations.
The Friends of the Upper East Side honored the museum with its 2026 Seamless Heritage Award for a “distinctive and meticulously executed project” that enhanced a cultural landmark. The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art will present the Frick with its Arthur Ross Award for Stewardship, a selective honor given only for projects demonstrating exceptional classical design principles.
The Municipal Art Society of New York awarded the Frick its MASterworks Design Award for Best Restoration, celebrating excellence in architecture, preservation, and public art. The New York Landmarks Conservancy will recognize the museum with the Lucy G. Moses Preservation Project Award, widely regarded as the city’s “Oscars of preservation.”
The honors highlight the comprehensive renovation and expansion of the Frick’s 1914 museum and 1935 library buildings, a project that preserved the institution’s historic character while enhancing public access and programming.
