The Whitney Museum of American Art’s annual Art Party will return Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, headlined by a DJ set from The Dare, the museum announced.

Hosted by the Whitney Contemporaries membership group, Art Party is a signature event on New York’s arts and philanthropy calendar, drawing young patrons, emerging artists, and guests from the worlds of art, fashion, business, entertainment and philanthropy. The after-hours celebration runs from 8:30 p.m. to midnight at the Whitney Museum of American Art, 99 Gansevoort St.

Guests will enjoy crafted cocktails, passed bites and exclusive access to the museum’s galleries, along with DJ sets by Raúl de Nieves and The Dare. This year’s event embraces bold self-expression, with attendees encouraged to wear loud prints and vibrant patterns in celebration of art, style and sound.

Artists Martine Gutierrez and Emma Safir will serve as Art Party co-chairs alongside Whitney Contemporaries Steven Beltrani, Micaela Erlanger and Alexander Hankin. The 2026 event marks Erlanger’s 10th year as a co-chair.

“Celebrating a decade of co-chairing the Whitney Art Party feels deeply personal to me,” Erlanger said. “Over the years, I’ve watched the Whitney—and this event—grow, evolve, and continually reflect the creative energy of New York.”

The evening is supported by Aesop, Faena New York, Libertine and Maestro Dobel Tequila. Proceeds from the Art Party benefit the Whitney’s Independent Study Program, a nationally recognized postgraduate program in studio art, curatorial studies and critical studies that supports artists throughout their careers.

The Dare is the solo project of vocalist, songwriter and producer Harrison Patrick Smith. He rose to prominence with his 2024 debut album, What’s Wrong With New York?, which includes the hit single “Girls” and has garnered tens of millions of streams. Known for his high-energy DJ sets, The Dare has performed at major festivals including Coachella, Primavera Sound and Lollapalooza, and has soundtracked events for fashion houses such as Gucci, Celine and Yves Saint Laurent.

Tickets for Art Party start at $275, with discounted pricing available for Whitney Contemporaries members. The event is open to guests 21 and older, and tickets are nonrefundable. More information is available at whitney.org/artparty.
