Broadway Engine, Daveed Ben-Arie, and Willette Klausner, in association with NewYorkRep, announced the world premiere of Ben Andron’s psychological drama “Broken Snow.”
The production, directed by Colin Hanlon, stars Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Tom Cavanagh (“The Flash,” “Ed”), television icon Tony Danza (“Taxi,” “Who’s the Boss?”), and Michael Longfellow (“Saturday Night Live”).
Performances are scheduled to begin April 19 at Theatre71, located at 152 W. 71st St. The play officially opens April 30 and is set to run through May 24.
Set in an abandoned, snow-bound house, “Broken Snow” follows two strangers — a volatile drifter named James and a reserved officer named Steven — who discover a dark familial connection. The plot centers on the duo unearthing long-buried trauma and a mysterious cigar box belonging to their father.
Andron, whose previous credits include “White’s Lies” and “Brave New World: The Musical,” also serves as a prominent entertainment advertising creative. Hanlon recently directed “Kowalski” off-Broadway and has appeared as an actor in “Modern Family” and the Broadway revival of “Falsettos.”
The production features set design by Scott Adam Davis, lighting by Jeff Croiter, sound by Bill Toles, and costumes by Lisa Zinni. Bob Ari and Max Roll will serve as standbys.
The performance schedule includes a 7 p.m. curtain on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with 8 p.m. shows on Fridays and Saturdays. Matinees are scheduled for Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Organizers noted that additional performances have been added for Monday, April 20, and April 27, while there will be no performances on April 24 or May 1.
