The Chelsea Music Festival has announced its upcoming presentation of “Copland & Twain – A Theatrical Concert” on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The live production is scheduled to run from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Open Jar Studios, located on the 11th floor at 1601 Broadway in New York City. Admission tickets for the evening performance are priced at $150 per person.

The performance functions as a theatrical concert conceived and directed by Bill Barclay, who previously served as the Director of Music at Shakespeare’s Globe. Produced by Concert Theatre Works, the production weaves together the incidental music of composer Aaron Copland with the literary writings of author Mark Twain. The musical score highlights the New York premieres of chamber orchestrations for both “Music for Movies” and “Music for Theatre,” which are juxtaposed against text from Twain’s “Diaries of Adam and Eve.”

Conductor Ken-David Masur will lead the Festival Chamber Orchestra during the presentation. The staging features five diverse actors performing in period costumes designed by costume designer Arthur Oliver, alongside synchronized lighting and visual projections. The featured acting cast for the production includes Caleb Mayo, Chloe McFarlane, Maurice Emmanuel Parent, Robert Walsh, and Carson Elrod.

The upcoming event is supported by Steinway & Sons, serving as a prominent sponsor for the festival. Following the conclusion of the theatrical and musical program, the venue will host a post-performance reception provided by Niederegger for attendees. Members of the public and press can secure attendance by completing an RSVP directly with publicist Michelle Tabnick.

The Chelsea Music Festival has presented interactive chamber music events in non-traditional spaces across New York City neighborhoods since 2010. The organization routinely highlights classical, contemporary, and jazz genres with a specific programming emphasis on commissioned works outside the traditional western canon.
