The Australian psychedelic rock band Pond will perform at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on July 17. The concert date is part of a summer tour where the group is serving as the opening act for Djo. The live appearance follows the debut of the band’s 11th studio album, titled Terrestrials, which is distributed through their independent imprint Mangovision via Secretly Distribution.

Concert tickets for the upcoming performance in Queens are currently available for purchase through the band’s official website. In addition to the performance at Forest Hills Stadium, the group is executing a broader North American headline tour throughout the summer season. Physical copies of the new record, including a compact disc and a specialized 180-gram colored vinyl version, are scheduled for public release on June 26.

The tracking for the new album includes a specialized focus song titled Skyworks, which features an accompanying music video. The track features a main chord progression written by guitarist Joe Ryan and explores the historical context of Australia Day. According to singer Nick Allbrook, the lyrics address the juxtaposition of modern public celebrations against colonial history.

The recording process for the new album involved a strict framework for the five-piece lineup, which includes Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry, and James Ireland. The musicians explicitly prohibited the use of traditional ballads, fuzz pedals, or production styles modeled after Pink Floyd. The resulting arrangements draw musical inspiration from 1980s Australian rock and European post-punk acts like Magazine and Sisters of Mercy.

The lyrical concepts across the new material examine environmental topics, extractive capitalism, regional identity, and social inequality. The band originally formed in 2010 in Fremantle, Western Australia, before gaining international touring status with their 2013 record Beard, Wives, Denim. Their performance history features extensive live dates alongside groups such as Arctic Monkeys and appearances at global festivals including Glastonbury and Coachella.
