Los Angeles-based alternative rock band wilt will bring their summer North American tour to New York City for two performances this August. The four-piece group is scheduled to play at Irving Plaza on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, and will return to the same venue to open for artist Jutes on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The extensive tour follows the release of their latest single, “nothing good to cry about,” distributed via AWAL. The track was produced by Carlos de la Garza, known for his work with Paramore and The Linda Lindas. The song offers a first look at the rock-forward sound of the band’s upcoming debut album, which is scheduled for release later this year.
Musically, the new track features an upbeat melody contrasted by introspective lyrics. The band includes vocalist Chelsea Rifkin, guitarists Aaron Liebman and Andrew Vance, and drummer Dan Bermudez. The group drew inspiration for their band name from the track “Celebrity Skin” by the band Hole.
“The song is really for anyone who’s looked at their life and thought: ‘everything’s fine, so why am I still unhappy?'” the band said regarding the release.
An accompanying music video, directed by Jacqueline Justice, was released alongside the track. The video features a deliberate visual contrast between the band performing in an empty room and playing to a packed room of fans. A bartender in the video represents the spirit of Rifkin’s late father, a former record store owner who passed away from cancer several years ago.
Prior to this tour, the group built a social media following and toured both internationally and across the United States. Their past touring experience includes supporting slots for artists such as Lovejoy, Taylor Acorn, and The Warning. The band has also received radio airplay on stations including KROQ and KCRW.
