Nishane opens first New York boutique on Elizabeth Street in Nolita

Nishane, the Istanbul-founded fragrance house, has opened its first New York boutique at 239 Elizabeth St. in Nolita. The shop opened Oct. 1 and gives the brand a permanent address in the United States. It follows the opening of Nishane’s London boutique on Maddox Street earlier this year.

Inside, the design draws on the contrasts of Istanbul, including heritage and modernity and East and West. Reflective stainless-steel surfaces, deep green tiles and warm light fill the space. Illuminated displays present each fragrance with the name of its city engraved on the bottle, topped with golden caps inspired by the turning of the whirling dervishes.

A circular digital table sits at the center of the boutique, showing the brand’s collections, campaign stories, and artistic inspirations through ever-changing visual content. Seating around the table is meant for conversation and time spent testing each scent on the skin. Fragrance advisors are on hand for every visit, and private consultations are available by appointment.

The full Nishane collection is on display, including the Prestige Extraits, which have concentrations of up to 40 percent. The boutique also carries collections reserved for Nishane stores. A grand opening with founders Mert Güzel and Murat Katran is set for Nov. 5, and new launches and seasonal campaigns will follow throughout the year.

“Elizabeth Street offers an intimate, neighborhood atmosphere where discovery happens naturally, making it the ideal setting for clients to explore our creations at their own pace and experience the world of NISHANE beyond the fragrance itself,” Güzel and Katran said. The boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Appointments and inquiries can be made by calling 201-702-1290.

Nishane was founded in 2012. Its fragrances are also sold at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom online and select independent perfumeries.
