The New York Botanical Garden is hosting Flower Power Dress-Up Day on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The themed event runs from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the garden’s Bronx location.
Visitors are encouraged to wear 1960s-inspired outfits such as bell bottoms, floppy hats, and fringed vests. The first 100 dressed-up visitors will receive seed packets from Hudson Valley Seed Co., and costumed guests will also receive a 20 percent discount voucher for the NYBG Shop.
A dress-up contest takes place at Conservatory Plaza at 3:00 p.m., where judges will award prizes for categories including best hippie, best tie-dye, best florals, and best impersonator. Live music performances will occur on the Conservatory Lawn with sets at 12:00, 1:00, and 2:00 p.m., featuring NYC folk musicians performing 1960s favorites and original works.
Guests can also attend a friendship bracelet workshop in the Perennial Garden from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to learn simple weaving designs. The broader Flower Power exhibition runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. across the grounds, featuring botanical displays alongside 1960s photography and visual art in the Mertz Building Art Gallery.
An All-Garden Pass is required for entry to the event. Additional event details and pass information are available on the New York Botanical Garden website.
