Team Dumbo has launched the “Dumbo Day Pass + Sweepstakes” to encourage soccer fans visiting the upcoming Adidas FIFA World Cup Fan Zone to patronize independent local businesses. The initiative runs from June 11 through July 19. It targets crowds gathering at Emily Warren Roebling Plaza in Brooklyn Bridge Park, directing them toward the neighborhood’s restaurants, shops, and galleries.
The digital pass integrates directly into Apple and Android e-wallets, enabling users to unlock deals at more than 30 participating locations. Incentives include a free bath bomb with a purchase at Mumu Bath, a complimentary glass of wine at Superfine, and a half-priced beverage with a food purchase at Randolph Beer. Other local businesses offering promotions through the pass include Almondine, Glam Expressway, Juliana’s, Thea Grant, and Jacques Torres.
Participants can enter a sweepstakes to win rotating weekly prizes, such as professional photo sessions at neighborhood landmarks and merchandise packages. To qualify for the drawings, pass holders must either shop at three or more participating businesses and scan a QR code at checkout, or complete free themed walking tours.
The mobile-guided walking routes are designed to spread pedestrian traffic along alternative paths into the neighborhood. The initial options include a public art and murals tour alongside a history and pizza themed route. Pass users check in at designated highlight locations along these paths using their mobile devices.
Dumbo contains more than 200 independent operations, including 64 restaurants and cafes, 12 art galleries, and four record shops. The pass system runs on the Dumbo Concierge platform, a neighborhood guide application built in partnership with Pull City to manage expected event crowds.
“This is about making sure visitors experience Dumbo beyond the fan zone,” Alexandria Sica, president of Team Dumbo, said. “The World Cup presents an incredible opportunity for our small businesses, and we want people to discover the shops, restaurants, galleries, and creative experiences that make Dumbo so special.”
